I don't have a child in school yet, but I'm always looking for fun and creative ways to get my little guy to eat healthy food. Lately, cookie cutters have worked. Now I'm thinking that I want to buy some bento boxes. Totally unnecessary because we eat at home most days---but who knows? Maybe he'll start eating cucumbers? Oh yeah, I bet kids would LOVE bentos! I read another blog where the mom sometimes makes meals in little bento boxes for her kids, and they just eat them up. It's also a great way to use up "a little bit of this and a little bit of that" from the fridge because you can put tiny amounts of things in the mini cups and bowls of the bento box. There are some really great cutters and things you can get too. Fun!
Oh yeah, and check out this post I just read today about bento box lunches from one of my favorite adoption bloggers. In particular, the little sugar "eyes" that were used-they look like fun additions to bento snacks! (The blog is salsainchina.blogspot.com/ and the specific post is "Do your eyes fall off in transit?") :) This mom often makes bento lunches for her twin girls and they love 'em!
I am a multi-tasking, work-mostly-at-home, urban-dwelling wife, mom, graphic designer, writer and musician. I try to be balanced in my approach to parenting. I love good design, good coffee, chocolate, international travel (not that I'm doing much of that these days), and being creative in all areas of life.
